Looking for the perfect way to kick off the countdown to Christmas in Sheffield?

Our annual family concert at Victoria Hall features music from the popular films Frozen and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
We will also perform a menu of iconic holiday classics and a few festive surprises to get you in the Christmas spirit!

This lively afternoon of music is fun for all ages, from 0-100, and is performed by the Sheffield Youth Orchestra and Endcliffe Orchestra.

Tickets will sell out quickly so booking in advance is strongly recommended. On the day, arrive early to grab the best seats!

There are two duplicate events the same day - 12:00pm-1:00pm and 3:00pm-4:00pm

BRAHMS Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 68

This thrilling programme opens with Vítězslava Kaprálová's best known work Military Sinfonietta, which she premiered in 1937 in Prague, becoming the first woman to conduct the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.  Following will feature a piece by a more familiar Czech composer, Antonín Dvořák.  The Orchestra are delighted to accompany acclaimed cellist, Richard Jenkinson who will play Dvořák’s sumptuous and virtuosic cello concerto.  After the interval the Orchestra will present Brahms' Symphony No. 1 in C minor.  Brahms’ First Symphony, from sketches to finishing touches, took him 21 years to complete.  It begins with the pounding of a broken heart, and ends in a blaze of triumph guaranteed to get your pulse racing!
